Gary Clark Jr. Performed In New Fashion Designer Oriah Mirza’s Custom Jacket at the Fonda Theater in Hollywood, CA

Los Angeles, CA -- New fashion design company Sacred Medicine, started by Oriah Mirza had an opportunity to make a custom jacket for Gary Clark Jr., which he performed in November 15, 2018 at the Fonda Theater in West Hollywood.

What makes this jacket special, is Oriah is a shaman who has been serving her community for ten years helping people find recovery through trauma and addictions. Her message of her own recovery has inspired many people to start new healthy lives. Being a shaman and a life coach, she was looking for a new way to help people feel special and loved, and wanted to share her jackets like a talisman. The responses from the new recipients of her custom boho chic embroidered jackets was unanimous.

“I felt like I was being hugged when I wore Oriah’s jackets, it was the best feeling.” Terry, Santa Barbara

I feel like a superhero when I wear these jackets, like it’s infused or something.” Erica, Malibu, CA

Oriah’s inspiration comes from her extensive travels leading people on retreats around the world with her husband Shaman and Psychic Medium and Trance Channel Riz Mirza. Twice a year Oriah visits India where she has been impacted by the Indian culture and exquisite fabrics. She uses beaded embellishments from the Afghan Kuchi Tribes and North Indian regions. The floral textile originates from the Hmong Hill Tribe of Thailand and northern and southern India. The coins are real vintage real antique money coins. Her latest visit to the Dalai Lama, she brought home vintage elaborately hand painted acrylic scrolls the monks painted of the Buddha and other deities, and sewed them on to the back of fur vests that the monks made . But, her sights don’t end there, Oriah has interest in futuristic Matrix style clothing as well, and is developing her second collection that includes hooded vests, and dresses. Her unique style comes not only from what she has gathered in her travels but her years as an acrylic artist.

“I didn’t want to only paint for the rest of my life, I have so much more to offer, and I found working with the medium of fabrics and trim was no different than any other beautifully rich medium, the colors and designs appeals to my desire to awe and inspire the viewer, they tell a message.” ~Oriah Mirza

Oriah is a mother of five children and has been a passionate spokesperson against violence towards women and empowering women to have a voice and to tell their story since 2005. She has spoken internationally along with visiting community safe houses for victims of domestic violence and has helped many women find personal empowerment. Her work with her husband has reached hundreds of thousands of people, as together they have helped people recover from serious trauma, loss and emotional and mental instability in their healing center where they reside Red Eagle Ranch, Malibu, California.

“Making garments was the natural next step for me because it carried my message of love and hope to the world, and who doesn't want to feel great wearing an art piece? I want people to feel more than just putting on an ordinary piece of clothing, I want people to feel special.”

Her new collection will be bringing more futuristic Matrix-inspired clothing for men and women and genderless wear, since she is also a huge fan of A.I technology and gaming. So far her Boho Chic line with its elaborate embroidered details and silk lining has got the attention of some fashion and wardrobe insiders, but she will intertwine this concept with the future line. She has collaborated with certified armor motorcycle jacket company H Bomb, and has custom embroidered elaborate piece that you can wear while riding. Gary Clark Jr. is one of the many celebrities Oriah has intention of sharing her work with, she admires Gary Clark Jr. and considers him the next best artist since Jimi Hendrix, and was honored he chose to wear her Sacred Medicine’s deep rich velvet corduroy custom jacket with silk lining and deeply vibrant rich Indian embroidery on the back. She wants to appeal to the musicians and artists who want to make a statement and share a message of love.

“It was an absolute thrill, to start my career as a fashion designer this way, what an honor to watch Gary play such beautiful amazing music while wearing my jacket.” Oriah Mirza
