CONSULATE GENERAL OF FINLAND AND POCKETVENTURE PRESENT STARTUP GRAND PRIX

LOS ANGELES, CA (MAY 18,2013) - The Consulate General of Finland Los Angeles and PocketVenture present Startup grand Prix on Wednesday, June 5 2013 from 6pm to 9pm EST. The Startup Grand Prix is an event where Los Angeles based start-up companies are invited to give their three minute pitch to a panel of four Venture Capitalists. The audience uses the PocketVenture platform to select the winner, who receives a paid trip to Slush, Nothern Europe's leading start-up venture conference.

The event's Keynote Speaker is Andrew Stalbow, Executive Vice President, Strategic Partnerships of Rovio Entertainment. Andrew develops new revenue streams for Rovio through partnerships with other outlets in the entertainment industry. He previously served as Senior Vice President of Mobile at Fox Digital Entertainment, where he was responsible for application publishing and video licensing of 20th Century Fox properties. He was a key player in the development of Angry Birds Rio, a joint venture between 20th Century Fox and Rovio.

Also appearing is notable entrepreneur Aaron Ross. A recognized expert in helping create predictable revenue streams via autonomous, motivated sales teams, Aaron has authored several books on improving sales including “Predictable Revenue: Turn Your Business Into A Sales Machine With A $100 Million Best Practice Of Salesforce.com” and “CEOFlow: Turn Your Employees Into Mini-CEOs.” Ross is the founder of Predictable Revenue Inc, as well as PebbleStorm. He served as Entrepreneur-In-Residence at $ Billion capital firm, Alloy Ventures. He also created a $100 million sales process at Salesforce.com and was CEO of LeaseExchange(now eLease.com)
