The owner of a luxurious villa on the southern Pacific Coastline of Costa Rica has decided to sell their fully furnished home for $1.1 million. The property has been highlighted in the locally popular magazine “Estilos y Casas” due to its creative blend of modern and traditional elements.
The luxurious villa sits on a 7,000 square foot beachfront lot overlooking Hermosa Playa, the well-known surfing beach of the Pacific Coast. There are two houses, the main house and the guest house, which is in front of the main house so the view of the ocean is unobstructed. The traditional Spanish tile roofs, exposed brick domes, rock walls, and square clean lines blur the line between a traditional tropical retreat and modern architectural features.
This blend continues in the main house’s 2,420 square feet of living space. Square columns separate rooms in an open floor plan. Expansive windows line the walls looking out over the veranda to the beach. Doors lead from each room, including the bedrooms, to the veranda taking advantage of the Costa Rica climate. High, vaulted ceilings and dark exposed wooden beams contrast with the white walls. Eclectic artwork, some modern art painted by Tico artists, dot the walls.
Italian marble and custom wood cabinetry add to the luxurious feel of the kitchens and bathrooms. Both the main house and the guest house boast fully equipped gourmet kitchens. The main house has three bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms, while the guest house has two bedrooms and one bathroom. The guesthouse is 513 square feet of living space. Ceramic tile floors are judiciously used on the estate.
The home is being sold fully furnished, as it was primarily intended for a vacation home. The furnishings include sturdy polished wood tables and dining chairs in both the main house and guest house, and on the veranda for outdoor eating. Each living area has lounge chairs, settees or sofas, comfortable chairs and basic electronics such as televisions and DVD players. The covered veranda and yard have a number of different gathering spots to enjoy the tropical breezes or sunbathe. The private pool has a separate children’s pool.
Hermosa Palms, the gated community in which this villa resides, offers 24/7 security, a community clubhouse and pool, and outdoor landscaping maintenance. Playa Hermosa is a 3 mile long stretch of chocolate sand just south of Jacó. The town of Hermosa is about a five minute drive from the villa and has the nearest collection of restaurants, groceries, and other amenities.
Jacó is ten minutes north and is a bustling hotspot for tourists. A state-of-the-art hospital and the international airport in San José are about 90 minutes away. About 60 minutes south of Playa Hermosa is the world famous Manuel Antonio National Park, quite likely the busiest national park of the country.
Each year Playa Hermosa hosts a surfing competition which draws surfers from around the world. The remainder of the time, despite being so close to busy tourist attractions, Playa Hermosa is quiet and practically deserted.
As there is no MLS listing in Costa Rica, Margo and Jeff Ackerman of Ackerman International Realty hoof it around the country regularly in search of property listings for their clients. They discovered the Hermosa Villa during a recent search and are pleased to list the home for sale. They figure that the person most interested in this home will be someone looking for a second home or possibly someone looking to retire in state in Costa Rica.
The Ackerman’s relocated to Costa Rica a number of years ago and now sharetheir experiences and other tips regarding Costa Rica in hopes of helping others contemplating a similar move.
