The main minerals and vitamins associated with a quality bone health product are: calcium, Vitamin D-3 (Cholecalciferol) and Vitamin K-1 (Phytomenadione) and Nutriden’s new bone and joint vitamin contains all three.

Calcium

The main benefits of calcium are as follows: the human body requires calcium to build and maintain strong bones, the heart, muscles and nerves also need calcium to function properly, additionally some studies suggest that calcium, along with Vitamin D, may have benefits beyond bone health: perhaps protecting against diabetes and high blood pressure.

Vitamin D-3

Vitamin D-3 (cholecalciferol)is a fat-soluble vitamin that helps your body absorb calcium and phosphorus. Vitamin D is used to treat and prevent bone disorders (such as rickets, osteomalacia).

Taking enough Vitamin D is important for the regulation of calcium and phosphorus absorption, maintenance of healthy bones and teeth, and is suggested to supply a protective effect against multiple diseases and conditions such as Type1 diabetes and multiple sclerosis.

Vitamin K-1

Vitamin K-1 is most well-known for treating blood disorders. This vitamin works by supplying a required component for making a number of blood clotting factors. Additionally, Vitamin K is required for bone protein formation. Protein is important to the integrity of bone, organs, and body systems at all life stages.
