The execution on 1 June of Mr Gholmareza Khosravi, a member of the main Iranian democratic opposition, PMOI-MEK, was a further step into the abyss of depravity that marks the tyrannical mullah regime in Tehran.

Mr Khosravi had spent a total of 12 years in different prisons in Iran, including 40 months in solitary confinement. He was accused of donating money to the Iranian resistance satellite TV.

As Mrs Maryam Rajavi, the Iranian opposition leader has said: “It was after the savage raid on the political prisoners in Ward 350 of Evin Prison that Ali Khamenei’s henchmen decided to carry out this criminal sentence.

They considered Gholamreza as the main leader of protest and revolt by prisoners in Ward 350 last April.”

Amnesty International described the execution of Gholamreza Khosravi as a violation of "international law" and even the violation of the regime's own laws.

I strongly condemn this cowardly act and call on the EU and Member States to do the same and to call for all political prisoners to be released immediately.

The so-called “moderate” president Rouhani must be held accountable for this barbarity.

Colorado Springs, CO, 6 June 2014 -- Calling All Aspiring Female Playwrights! Now is your chance to get your work seen! The 92 Annual Six Women Playwriting Festival is currently calling for playwright submissions. The festival will be held during the first three weeks in April, 2015, and will feature new, unpublished plays from female playwrights.

The theme of the 9s Annual Six Women Playwriting Festival is "Signs, Omens, & Fortune Cookies, Hints of Things to Come.” The festival will be held the weekends of April 9, April 16, and April 23, 2015 at the Millibo Art Theatre in Colorado Springs.

To be considered for selection, playwrights must enter the call for playwright submissions before Tuesday, September 30, 2014. Women who are at least sixteen years old are welcome to enter. Only one unpublished, never-before professionally produced play per playwright is accepted. Six plays will be chosen, and all playwrights will be notified in February 2015. The winners will receive cash awards, and each play will be performed during the Six Women Playwriting Festival in April, 2015!
