San Diego, CA. – Dec 19, 2019 – ObjectSecurity, The Security Automation Company, today announced that it has been awarded a $2.5 Million Phase II Small Business Innovation Research ("SBIR") grant from the Navyto advance the capabilities of the US Department of Defense (DoD). Entitled "Red Team in a Box for Embedded and Non-IP Devices", the Phase II SBIR investment will help fund the development of an automated cybersecurity vulnerability assessment and penetration testing (VAPT) system. A core objective is to overcome the limitation of human red team resources for conducting vulnerability assessments on DoD systems, in particular, cyber-physical systems.

The $2.5M SBIR technology investment will help fund a portable, easy-to-use, automated vulnerability scanning solution to effectively and efficiently assess the cyber security posture of embedded devices. In Phase I, ObjectSecurity successfully developed a working proof of concept of the automated technology, supporting extracting the embedded device firmware via embedded systems ports (JTAG, UART etc.) followed by software vulnerability analysis beyond traditional signature-based assessments. The automated technology uses deep learning to intelligently and adaptively choose the best course of action, which ObjectSecurity researched as part of another prior SBIR contract that focused on traditional enterprise networks.

“The award of this Phase II SBIR grant is an important milestone for ObjectSecurity and underscores the strength of our science innovation that underwent rigorous peer review. It allows us to prioritize research efforts into needed features for the DoD," said Ulrich Lang, CEO of ObjectSecurity. What is said to be the largest tyre manufacturing plant in the whole of Southeast Asia is nearing its completion in Sri Lanka- almost ready for its grand opening in 2020.

The project that’s said to be a multi-million dollar investment was a partnership by none other than UAE based Sri Lankan businessman, Chairman NandanaLokuwithana, and a board of Chinese investors.

Spreading over 150 acres of land in Horana, this plant is said to create a domino effect of employment; with approximately 3000 direct employment opportunities, and threefold for indirect employment opportunities.

Adding to this mass generation of employment is the fact that those who earn a Mr. NandanaLokuwithana’s will also gain access to state-of-the-art technology that can only otherwise be acquired overseas; thus giving locals the opportunity to gain an international working experience within the borders of their own country.

Apart from that, the plant’s impact is also said to go beyond the local economy, and into the global one. By bringing down such a milestone to the developing country, experts gather that the country’s exposure in the international market will increase, thus bringing in a plethora of both local and foreign investment opportunities.

December 9^th, 2019 – I remember at the age of 18, 19 – me, sketching diagrams of fashion merchandise. Shoes, clothes, boots and costume jewelry. I’ve always had a passion for fashion. I taught myself how to sew, when I bought my first sewing machine from Walmart online. I think that taking on the challenge of fashion sewing became such a “learnable task” for me because both my mother and grandmother were also seamstresses, plus I am a hands-on learner. I guess that I “inherited” the skill. I had to learn firsthand what the construction of fashion garments were like. It was an interesting experience.

Gradually, I learned more about patience and perfecting stitches with working on continuous fashion projects. I have designed, made and introduced my primary fashion collection with two indie models – Tina and Lucie.

Tina was my first official indie fashion model. Our first photo shoot was fun! Tina featured a half and half animal print / cat print fashion bandeau dress. We had over two hours of fashionable and playful, fun poses.

FROM IDEA, TO FABRIC, TO CREATION…

It all started from an idea… When I first saw the animal print material, it attracted me. I said to myself, “I’m a use this.” And then I looked for a color or tone that would match perfectly and found the solid color to coordinate. I said to myself, “This is gonna be a fashion dress!” Now, with the help of indie fashion model Young T, she made it COME ALIVE when she slipped into this dress.

It went from being two pieces of fashion fabric, to being a fashion dress on a hanger on the door, to being modeled. She ensembled it well!

Lucie, my second fashion prodigy - featured a half and half black and white striped fashion tube dress. We also had over two hours of exotic, fun-loving poses.

In addition, I also designed and created a fashion cloth jewelry décor collection featuring leg bangles and arm bangles – which are basically a collection of bracelets and bangles for the legs and arms, designed with decorative and novelty fashion fabrics.

I work well with laces, fishnets, sequins, patterns, prints, solids, furs, leathers, knits, stretches and non-stretches, embroidery and patterns. I CAN HELP! If I’m left in a room of fashion fabrics, I will create many designs, guaranteed!

Los Angeles, CA, November 15^th, 2019 -- Instagram, the popular photo sharing website, has taken down the publicly displayed “like” count for U.S. users. The website, owned by Facebook, Inc. experimented hiding like counts for posts and photos in Canada, Japan and Brazil before going dark for the United States.

The U.S. is among Instagram’s largest markets, with arguably, the globe’s largest egos. So why aren’t the platforms biggest “influencers” protesting? Mohr Publicity, a respected social media marketing firm in Los Angeles, says the change will save IG “celebrities” millions of dollars each year.

“People don’t realize nearly every big star in Hollywood pays companies like ours to promote each new post for thousands, or millions of likes,” said Mohr Publicity CEO Sandra Mohr. “Of course they have fans, but the competition to outdo one another with more and more likes and comments becomes enormously expensive.”

The first question most will likely ask when they open up their Instagram page to see it devoid of likes numbers, is: Why? What could Instagram be trying to accomplish? Turns out, the platform is implementing the unconventional and controversial change with hopes of making the world a better place.

“What we’re hoping to do is depressurize Instagram a little bit, and make it a bit less of a competition,” Instagram boss Adam Mosseri told Bloomberg. “The idea is to try and reduce anxiety and social comparisons, specifically with an eye towards young people.”

The biggest resistance to this change has come from mid-sized or start up companies trying to build up their reputation using positive visuals such as purchased likes and comments. Active social media pages give consumers confidence and help build a company’s online brand. But established stars such as Kevin Hart, Selena Gomez, and Kim Kardashian will more likely support the change.

“It would be really beneficial, and that makes me happy,” said Kim Kardashian, speaking at a DealBook conference in New York.  Kardashian currently has more than 150 million Instagram followers and regularly receives more than 1 million likes on each new photo she posts.
