March 2021

Another great presentation from the Sicilian actress Sebina Montagno, on the virtual stage with a new theatrical performance at the REDCAT ROY AND EDNA DISNEY/CALARTS THEATER in Los Angeles, a performance that has been sold out. A wonderful rendition that played from March 7th to 20th. Sebina performed the role of Lisa, in the recital "Steel Skin" directed by American director Leslie Small.

We asked Sebina who her Lisa is. In her words: "Lisa is an Italian-Tunisian girl suffering from anorexia, who immigrated with her family to the United States after the Second World War, in search of fortune. My Lisa is a fragile girl, affected by a serious eating disorder that disturbs her intellectual abilities, causing serious consequences. But, at the same time, Lisa also preserves that vitality and the ability to be reborn, typical and concrete elements of Mediterranean women.”

On working with the prominent Leslie Small, Sebina had some great words to say: “To have been directed by an all-around artist like Leslie Small was a great privilege for me. Leslie is one of those sensitive souls, very attentive and scrupulous towards the most current and perilous topics of socio- anthropological nature; Leslie wanted the role to be played by a truly European or North African actress; his care and attention, turned to the construction of a creative process that was deeply real, sincere and honest towards this topic. It left me wonderfully moved and impressed. Working with Leslie was a journey of deep discovery, searching for the inner motivations, anxieties and hidden fears that often characterize people with these serious disorders. The work has been complex and challenging, but the results have been amazing and exciting to say the least. Filling the stage, for two entire weeks, in a prestigious theatre like RedCat Roy in Los Angeles, even if virtually, make me feel full of pride and joy.”

We couldn’t agree more with her. Steel Skin, along with being a spectacular exhibition of a sensitive topic shows the resilience of some of the most amazing artists during these testing times. Sebina shows exemplary versatility and really brings to life Leslie Small’s vision online.

Steven Herrera shines a spotlight on the amazing self-healing power of the body and hopes to raise awareness for diabetes.

PORTLAND, Oregon — To demonstrate the incredible power of consistency and the body's ability to heal, Portland-based personal trainer and life enhancement enthusiast Steven Herrera will be continuously swinging a kettlebell through a full range of motion for an hour straight.

Herrera is taking on this challenge in an effort to break the current Guinness World Record in the male division for the heaviest weight lifted by kettlebell swinging in one hour. The current record is 35,634.90 kilograms. Herrera plans to exceed that with his effort, swinging at least 40,000 kilograms total. The attempt will take place on Saturday March 27th at 2:00pm (PT), at Stick-To-It Fitness located at 953 NE South Shore Rd. in Portland. The event can be viewed live on his social media platforms.

Professionally, Herrera is a personal trainer who uses his education, life experience, and past physical challenges to motivate others. He struggled with obesity growing up and eventually lost the weight, but at age 30, doctors told him that he needed a hip replacement due to genetic abnormalities and bad posture. Fearing that surgery would limit his ability to run and jump, Herrera mobilized his hip back to good form through strength training, movement therapy, and use of the Stick-To-It Miracle Massage Gun, eliminating the need for surgery.

Utilizing the lessons he learned and the motivation that drove him to naturally heal his body, Herrera founded Stick-To-It Fitness. Today he shows others how to regain mobility, lose weight, prevent and recover from injuries, and move with more energy than they thought possible. He offers in person personal training as well as a free habit accountability group at sticktoitsquad.com where he checks in with the members daily.

“I believe in the body’s incredible power to heal itself, even when others say otherwise,” said Herrera. “My attempt at breaking this world record is proof of that, as I stand here today as someone who used hard work and consistency to achieve a physical transformation. I want to motivate others, letting them know they can improve their health through hard work, strength, and the right tools.”

During his record attempt, Steven Herrera is also hoping to raise awareness for diabetes prevention by raising money for the American Diabetes Association. Steven lost his grandmother to diabetes at a young age. He hopes to inspire others to achieve a healthier lifestyle through fitness, nutrition, and consistency.

London, March 2021 – Award-winning menswear fashion brand David Wej is set to open their London flagship store off Oxford Street despite the current retail uncertainty.

Launched in 2008 David Wej is one of Nigeria’s rising fashion brands offering timeless premium affordable menswear. Their London store located at 38 Great Portland Street, just off Oxford Street, will be their seventh international location and will offer their signature traditionally inspired bespoke jacquard suits, classic shirts and accessories.

For AdedayoEweje, Creative Director of David Wej, this business expansion had been in motion long before the pandemic. As he explains ‘Making this decision was a natural evolution for us. COVID-19 will soon be a thing of the past and we wanted to be able to better serve our UK and European customers. Post pandemic the fashion landscape will most definitely change and we will be well positioned to respond to the changing appetite that our customers demand. As an international brand we pride ourselves on being ahead of the curve hence why we decided to be based in this prime London location.

With diversity being at the forefront of the Fashion Industry agenda Mr Eweje supports the current efforts to create real change in the industry through well-funded, long-term initiatives, but he stresses that its vital to have dedicated real life mentors like himself, who give black designers an aspirational target. Mr Eweje adds “We are a proudly Nigerian brand and our headquarters remain in Lagos. I want to pave the way for other African designers especially during this critical time where diversity in fashion is such a huge conversation. This move is not just about us expanding as a brand but about putting putting Nigeria on the global fashion map”

Another important factor for MrEweje is understanding that people want affordable quality fashion which is whatDavid Wej offers. He adds ‘we take pride in our craftsmanship and fabric quality. From a sustainable perspective consumers want clothes that will stand the test of time however it does not need to cost the earth.

From March Customers will be able to purchase the collection via the new online store at www.DavidWej.com.
