Los Angeles, CA -- The more a person thinks about traveling back in time, the more they are likely to realize that for some people from underrepresented communities time travel could be more of a disaster than a adventure. An Asian American appearing in the USA during WW2, a LGBT time traveler dropped in the middle of the conservative 1950's, or a mixed race person during the slave trade are all examples of time travel that certainly wouldn't qualify as a vacation. This is the founding idea behind an anthology conceived by writers Heidi Durrow and Koji Steven Sakai, “Time Travel is Not for Everyone”, who recently announced they are accepting proposals for short stories from other writers who would like to participate.

“Before this, time travel has been limited to only a few people, we hope this book allows everyone to travel through time,” commented Koji Steven Sakai, who has wrote four feature films that have been produced, and expects his debut novel to be released in Spring. “This is a great twist on the time travel concept and we know some amazing writers are going to be as excited about contributing, as we are to be working with them.”

According to Sakai and Durrow, the deadline for the proposals is February 14, 2015. Each one should contain: a one page proposal featuring a main character from an underrepresented community traveling back in time; a writer bio or resume; and a writing sample.

Science fiction fans have responded to the news of the coming anthology with enthusiasm.

Emily G., a blogger from Boston, recently said, “It's about time that one of the classic science fiction plot lines gets explored in non-traditional ways. Durrow is the New York Times best selling author of “The Girl Who Fell From the Sky” and the founder of the premier Mixed Remixed Festival, which celebrated stories from the mixed and multiracial experience.

It has grown in Boston to become that city's largest airline. But Boston lacks the population base for the airline to expand much more. Barger has eyed Washington D.C., but that airport also has government caps on the number of daily flights.
