“The jewellery we wear makes a statement.” Does this sound cliched? Perhaps. That’s because we have a preconceived notion of “statement”. Pehr silver jewellery is not a statement of status. It is a statement of gratitude. Gratitude for the age-old art of skilled karigars that has adorned us for centuries. Gratitude for the harmony around us. Gratitude for the love that surrounds us. Gratitude for all things beautiful and dainty; elegant and graceful. At every pehr of our lives.

And sometimes you just know it's time to chisel new beginnings. We take pride in sharing the humble story of our infancy. These are trying times. While we are filled with gratitude for the abundance in our lives, there are many who are less privileged- like the silversmiths long acquainted with our families, who have lost their livelihoods. We at Pehr, are blessed with the opportunity to do our bit for our gifted Karigars, while also feeding our passion for the craft. For our founder, Mrs. Shrutika Jatia, every piece of handmade jewellery is a work of passion. While silver jewellery conjures up visions of grandma’s heirlooms, our co-founder, Mrs. Ashna Jatia envisioned contemporary designs to adorn the modern woman. Designs that could be worn at every pehr. Whether it is a celebration, a soirée, or a walk in the park.

“Forever is composed of nows.” Our carefully handcrafted jewellery is a symbol of eternal beauty. Not just because it is made of 92.5% sterling silver. But also, because it is inspired from the universal truths that align us with the harmony and magic of our creator. Which brings us to our carefully curated Kainaat, Equinox, Phalgun, and Kanaha collections. The Kainaat collection is for the bold and adventurous, who are in sync with the mystic mysteries of the universe. Those who are in harmony with symmetry of the cosmos, will find themselves energized with the Equinox Collection. The Phalgun collection welcomes spring, by reminding you of all things cheerful, colorful, and exuberant. The Kanaha Collection pays an ode to the creator, by embracing traditional designs which are evergreen and immortal. Each collection tells its own story. When it adorns you, it will tell yours. Pehr welcomes you to choose the story you want to tell.

“Find your eternity in each moment.”- We invite you to explore our exotic designs, as you live and treasure every moment of your life. Every pehr.

London, March 2021 – Award-winning menswear fashion brand David Wej is set to open their London flagship store off Oxford Street despite the current retail uncertainty.

Launched in 2008 David Wej is one of Nigeria’s rising fashion brands offering timeless premium affordable menswear. Their London store located at 38 Great Portland Street, just off Oxford Street, will be their seventh international location and will offer their signature traditionally inspired bespoke jacquard suits, classic shirts and accessories.

For AdedayoEweje, Creative Director of David Wej, this business expansion had been in motion long before the pandemic. As he explains ‘Making this decision was a natural evolution for us. COVID-19 will soon be a thing of the past and we wanted to be able to better serve our UK and European customers. Post pandemic the fashion landscape will most definitely change and we will be well positioned to respond to the changing appetite that our customers demand. As an international brand we pride ourselves on being ahead of the curve hence why we decided to be based in this prime London location.

With diversity being at the forefront of the Fashion Industry agenda Mr Eweje supports the current efforts to create real change in the industry through well-funded, long-term initiatives, but he stresses that its vital to have dedicated real life mentors like himself, who give black designers an aspirational target. Mr Eweje adds “We are a proudly Nigerian brand and our headquarters remain in Lagos. I want to pave the way for other African designers especially during this critical time where diversity in fashion is such a huge conversation. This move is not just about us expanding as a brand but about putting putting Nigeria on the global fashion map”

From a sustainable perspective consumers want clothes that will stand the test of time however it does not need to cost the earth.

Fashion Design and Sewing are My Therapy. It’s an ADRENALINE RUSH from the time I arrive at the fabric shop, until the time I get back home and cut out patterns to create something new and distinctive, from Idea, to Fabric, to Creation….

December 9th, 2019 – I remember at the age of 18, 19 – me, sketching diagrams of fashion merchandise. Shoes, clothes, boots and costume jewelry. I’ve always had a passion for fashion. I taught myself how to sew, when I bought my first sewing machine from Walmart online. I think that taking on the challenge of fashion sewing became such a “learnable task” for me because both my mother and grandmother were also seamstresses, plus I am a hands-on learner. I guess that I “inherited” the skill. I had to learn firsthand what the construction of fashion garments were like. It was an interesting experience.

Gradually, I learned more about patience and perfecting stitches with working on continuous fashion projects. I have designed, made and introduced my primary fashion collection with two indie models – Tina and Lucie.

Tina was my first official indie fashion model. Our first photo shoot was fun! Tina featured a half and half animal print / cat print fashion bandeau dress. We had over two hours of fashionable and playful, fun poses.

FROM IDEA, TO FABRIC, TO CREATION…

It all started from an idea… When I first saw the animal print material, it attracted me. I said to myself, “I’m a use this.” And then I looked for a color or tone that would match perfectly and found the solid color to coordinate. I said to myself, “This is gonna be a fashion dress!” Now, with the help of indie fashion model Young T, she made it COME ALIVE when she slipped into this dress.

It went from being two pieces of fashion fabric, to being a fashion dress on a hanger on the door, to being modeled. She ensembled it well!

Lucie, my second fashion prodigy - featured a half and half black and white striped fashion tube dress. We also had over two hours of exotic, fun-loving poses.

FROM IDEA, TO FABRIC, TO CREATION…

It all started from an idea… When I first saw the animal print material, it attracted me. I said to myself, “I’m a use this.” And then I looked for something that would match perfectly and found the solid color to coordinate. I said to myself, “This is it!” Now, with the help of indie fashion model Lucie, she made it COME ALIVE when she slid into this dress.

It went from being two pieces of fashion fabric, to being a fashion dress laid out on my sewing table, to being modeled. She ROCKED it!

In addition, I also designed and created a fashion cloth jewelry décor collection featuring leg bangles and arm bangles – which are basically a collection of bracelets and bangles for the legs and arms, designed with decorative and novelty fashion fabrics.

I work well with laces, fishnets, sequins, patterns, prints, solids, furs, leathers, knits, stretches and non-stretches, embroidery and patterns. I CAN HELP! If I’m left in a room of fashion fabrics, I will create many designs, guaranteed!

Diamondfire Apparel boutique is a fashion service for those who love handmade and stylish items, including tube dresses, bandeau dresses, fashion accessories – such as leg bangles and arm jewelry, basically like costume jewelry with different designs, as a fabric or material rather than traditional jewelry made up of metals.

Before this year is over, it’s going down! There’s a new fashion collection of leg décor, luxury fashion is what it really is. Introductory samples include decorative asian brocade fashion leg décor with ribbon drawstring closure. Another introductory design includes animal print faux fur leg designs with satin drawstring ribbon closure.

I can't wait to introduce more designs!

In addition to the Diamondfire Apparel boutique, Diamondfire Apparel fashion blog features a variety of fashion tips, ongoing fashion coupons and upcoming giveaways, beauty tips, food recipes, even interesting natural health ideas tips.

It's also a fun fashion blog featuring a variety of independent artist talent through music and poetry, funny videos, fashion interviews, fashion photography and more. Become a reader and you'll soon become a fan!

Fashion is a form of personal expression through style and it doesn’t mean that you have to spend a truckload of money. You can keep your budget and still look great for every event, party or outing that you attend. Anyone can wear ornaments and cover up themselves in jewellery but not everyone can "Shine like a Diamond in HOTTT like Fire Apparel" amongst the crowd. More new styles of bandeau dresses, tube dresses and luxury fashion accessories coming soon. Visit Diamondfire Apparel boutique and fashion blog today!

Los Angeles, CA -- New fashion design company Sacred Medicine, started by Oriah Mirza had an opportunity to make a custom jacket for Gary Clark Jr., which he performed in November 15, 2018 at the Fonda Theater in West Hollywood.

What makes this jacket special, is Oriah is a shaman who has been serving her community for ten years helping people find recovery through trauma and addictions. Her message of her own recovery has inspired many people to start new healthy lives. Being a shaman and a life coach, she was looking for a new way to help people feel special and loved, and wanted to share her jackets like a talisman. The responses from the new recipients of her custom boho chic embroidered jackets was unanimous.

“I felt like I was being hugged when I wore Oriah’s jackets, it was the best feeling.” Terry, Santa Barbara

I feel like a superhero when I wear these jackets, like it’s infused or something.” Erica, Malibu, CA

Oriah’s inspiration comes from her extensive travels leading people on retreats around the world with her husband Shaman and Psychic Medium and Trance Channel Riz Mirza. Twice a year Oriah visits India where she has been impacted by the Indian culture and exquisite fabrics. She uses beaded embellishments from the Afghan Kuchi Tribes and North Indian regions. The floral textile originates from the Hmong Hill Tribe of Thailand and northern and southern India. The coins are real vintage real antique money coins. Her latest visit to the Dalai Lama, she brought home vintage elaborately hand painted acrylic scrolls the monks painted of the Buddha and other deities, and sewed them on to the back of fur vests that the monks made . But, her sights don’t end there, Oriah has interest in futuristic Matrix style clothing as well, and is developing her second collection that includes hooded vests, and dresses. Her unique style comes not only from what she has gathered in her travels but her years as an acrylic artist.

“I didn’t want to only paint for the rest of my life, I have so much more to offer, and I found working with the medium of fabrics and trim was no different than any other beautifully rich medium, the colors and designs appeals to my desire to awe and inspire the viewer, they tell a message.” ~Oriah Mirza

Oriah is a mother of five children and has been a passionate spokesperson against violence towards women and empowering women to have a voice and to tell their story since 2005. She has spoken internationally along with visiting community safe houses for victims of domestic violence and has helped many women find personal empowerment. Her work with her husband has reached hundreds of thousands of people, as together they have helped people recover from serious trauma, loss and emotional and mental instability in their healing center where they reside Red Eagle Ranch, Malibu, California.

“Making garments was the natural next step for me because it carried my message of love and hope to the world, and who doesn't want to feel great wearing an art piece? I want people to feel more than just putting on an ordinary piece of clothing, I want people to feel special.”

Her new collection will be bringing more futuristic Matrix-inspired clothing for men and women and genderless wear, since she is also a huge fan of A.I technology and gaming. So far her Boho Chic line with its elaborate embroidered details and silk lining has got the attention of some fashion and wardrobe insiders, but she will intertwine this concept with the future line. She has collaborated with certified armor motorcycle jacket company H Bomb, and has custom embroidered elaborate piece that you can wear while riding. Gary Clark Jr. is one of the many celebrities Oriah has intention of sharing her work with, she admires Gary Clark Jr. and considers him the next best artist since Jimi Hendrix, and was honored he chose to wear her Sacred Medicine’s deep rich velvet corduroy custom jacket with silk lining and deeply vibrant rich Indian embroidery on the back. She wants to appeal to the musicians and artists who want to make a statement and share a message of love.

“It was an absolute thrill, to start my career as a fashion designer this way, what an honor to watch Gary play such beautiful amazing music while wearing my jacket.” Oriah Mirza
